This card has a similar history as the Dexter/Crocker history that I explained in the previous card #532. This card was the 4" x 6" replacement of smaller card #411. Since Albany is the Capitol city, I felt that I had to always have a view of that building on hand. I will describe each printing separately: Card #533 (original) was published by Dexter Press in West Nyack, NY, it has a straight edge. In the lower left corner is Dist. by Avis Post Card Co., the card number 91983-D, photo courtesy N.Y.S.O.G.S. and my card/stock number of 533. 6,900 cards were delivered on June 15, 1984. Card #533R (reprint) was published by H.S. Crocker Co., Inc., it also has a straight edge. In the lower left corner is Dist. by Avis Post Card Co., the card number is NOT shown, Photo courtesy N.Y.S.O.G.S. and my card/stock number of 533R. 8,250 cards were delivered on July 2, 1985. Card #533R (second reprint) is identical to the reprint shown above. 7,720 cards were delivered on July 9, 1987. |
