This was the second card in the Albany Tricentennial set. For many years the Ten Eyck Hotel stood on this corner; next to a beautiful domed Albany Savings Bank building. In the late 1970's the whole block was torn down and these three buildings replaced them. The building at the center became the new headquarters for Albany Savings Bank. The building at the left is a Hotel and the building at the right is predominately used for the New York State Social Services Dept. Albany Savings Bank no longer exists under that name. It is now part of the Charter One group. The cards are 4" x 6". The publisher was McGrew Color Graphics. The card number shown is 28417427. ©1986 by Avis Post Card Co., Photo by Dennis Mallory. My card/stock #538 is shown in the lower left corner. 6,700 cards were delivered on July 9, 1986. |
